1. Project Background
In February 2024, we partnered with a client in China to provide professional audio solutions for their important press conference. The event was held in an indoor conference venue with an area of approximately 200-250 square meters, designed to accommodate 100 participants, including media reporters, company executives, and industry representatives. The core challenge of the project was the indoor acoustic environment—there were slight sound reflections due to the venue’s glass walls and ceiling structure, which could easily lead to unclear sound transmission and uneven sound coverage. The client’s primary goal was to ensure that every participant in the venue could hear the speaker’s voice clearly, without distortion or dead angles, to guarantee the smooth progress of the press conference.
After comparing multiple audio service providers, the client ultimately chose our company. The key reasons for their choice were our professional sound debugging capabilities and the stable performance of our audio equipment. The client had high requirements for the reliability of the audio system, as the press conference involved important information release and media recording, and any audio failure would affect the event’s professionalism and effectiveness. Our team’s rich experience in press conference audio solutions and the excellent stability of the VRX series products convinced the client to cooperate with us.
2. Client Requirements
The client’s core requirements for the press conference audio system focused on two key aspects: sound clarity and long-term stability, which were also the main challenges of the project.
First, regarding sound clarity: The press conference involved speeches, Q&A sessions, and video playback. The client required that the sound could be transmitted clearly to every corner of the venue, with high fidelity of human voice reproduction, no noise, no howling, and no sound distortion, ensuring that media reporters could accurately record the content and participants could clearly understand the information released. The sound pressure level needed to be moderate—sufficiently clear without being harsh, adapting to the indoor conference environment.
Second, regarding long-term stability: The press conference was scheduled to last 4 hours, including setup and rehearsal time, requiring the audio system to operate continuously at high power without any failures such as signal interruption, equipment overheating, or sound distortion. The client emphasized that the audio system must be highly reliable to avoid any accidents that would affect the smooth progress of the event, as it was related to the company’s brand image and the effectiveness of information dissemination.
3. Our Solution
Based on the client’s needs and the on-site investigation of the venue, our team customized a professional audio solution using 6 VRX932 line array speakers and 2 VRX918S subwoofers, which perfectly matched the scale of the 100-person press conference and the indoor acoustic environment.
First, in terms of equipment combination: We adopted a combination of 1 VRX918S subwoofer and 3 VRX932 line array speakers per group, dividing the 6 VRX932 line arrays and 2 VRX918S subwoofers into two groups. This combination was designed based on the venue’s size and acoustic characteristics—each group of 3 VRX932 line arrays could provide uniform horizontal and vertical sound coverage, while the VRX918S subwoofers supplemented the low-frequency performance, making the overall sound more full and layered, which was particularly suitable for human voice reproduction in press conferences.
Second, in terms of installation layout: Our team hung the two groups of equipment on both sides of the stage respectively, after precise measurement and calculation of the venue’s height and width. The hanging height was set at 4.8 meters, and the angle of the line array speakers was adjusted to 15° downward, ensuring that the sound could cover the entire indoor venue evenly, without dead angles in the front, middle, and rear areas. At the same time, we reasonably arranged the connection lines to avoid signal interference and ensure the stability of the audio system.
In addition, we configured professional power amplifiers and audio processors that matched the VRX series equipment, strictly following the IEC268-15 standard for impedance matching and signal level adjustment, ensuring efficient and distortion-free signal transmission, and laying a solid foundation for the long-term stable operation of the system.

It accurately reproduces vocal and musical signals, delivering clear and transparent mid-to-high frequencies alongside rich, full-bodied mid-to-low frequencies; furthermore, it effectively prevents sound distortion even during high-power operation.
3. Stable Performance and Durability: The VRX932 features a rated power of 800W (continuous) and 3200W (peak), with a maximum SPL reaching 130dB. It is fully capable of meeting the demands for sustained, high-power operation required by events such as press conferences. VRX918S Subwoofer
1. Powerful Low-Frequency Performance: The VRX918S is an 18-inch bass-reflex subwoofer with a frequency response range of 31Hz–220Hz. It effectively complements the low-frequency section of the audio system, enriching the overall tonal quality to be fuller and more powerful, thereby significantly enhancing the sense of sonic presence. Its maximum sound pressure level reaches an impressive 130 dB, allowing it to pair seamlessly with VRX932 line array loudspeakers to form a complete audio reinforcement system.
2. High Stability and Reliability: The VRX918S features dual-voice-coil Differential Drive® woofer technology, with a rated power of 800W (continuous) and 3200W (peak). This loudspeaker is capable of stable, long-duration operation and is highly resistant to overheating or malfunction. Its well-engineered thermal management system ensures that the unit maintains consistent performance output, even during continuous high-power operation.
3. Easy Integration and Installation: The VRX918S boasts a compact design that facilitates easy integration and pairing with VRX932 line array loudspeakers. It supports a variety of flexible mounting options—including suspension and ground-stacking—allowing it to effortlessly adapt to the specific layout requirements of diverse venues.
5. Implementation Process
To ensure the smooth implementation of the project and the optimal effect of the audio system, our team strictly followed the professional process to carry out the work, which was divided into three key stages:
(1) Survey and Planning
Before the event, our professional technical team went to the press conference venue for on-site investigation. We measured the venue’s length, width, height, and other dimensions, collected the venue’s acoustic data (such as background noise, sound reflection coefficient), and analyzed the potential acoustic problems (such as sound reflection and dead angles). Based on the investigation results and the client’s needs, we formulated a detailed equipment selection plan, installation layout plan, and debugging plan, determined the hanging position, angle, and height of the VRX932 line array speakers and VRX918S subwoofers, and calculated the required power amplifier and audio processor parameters to ensure that the solution was scientific and feasible.
(2) Installation and Programming Debugging
On the day before the press conference, our team arrived at the venue to carry out equipment installation work. First, we installed the hanging brackets and fixed the two groups of VRX932 line array speakers and VRX918S subwoofers on both sides of the stage according to the planning plan, and checked the firmness of the hanging to ensure safety. Then, we connected the audio equipment (speakers, power amplifiers, audio processors, microphones, etc.) in accordance with the impedance matching and signal level standards, and debugged the equipment programming. We adjusted the sound volume, frequency response, and sound balance to ensure that the sound was clear and uniform, and set up sound protection functions (such as overheating protection, overload protection) to avoid equipment damage.
(3) Testing and Optimization
After the installation and debugging were completed, we conducted a comprehensive system test. We simulated the scene of the press conference, played test signals and human voice signals, and tested the sound clarity, coverage, and stability in different areas of the venue (front row, middle row, rear row, corner). We used professional sound level meters and spectrum analyzers to detect the sound pressure level and frequency response, ensuring that the sound pressure level difference in the entire venue was within 3dB, and the sound clarity and fidelity met the client’s requirements. For the slight sound reflection problem in individual areas, we adjusted the angle of the line array speakers and optimized the audio parameters to achieve the best sound effect.
6. Project Achievements
With the professional solution and careful implementation, the audio system performed excellently throughout the press conference, achieving the expected goals and winning high recognition from the client.
First, the sound quality was uniformly covered: The combination of 6 VRX932 line array speakers and 2 VRX918S subwoofers ensured that the sound was transmitted clearly to every corner of the venue, with no dead angles. The sound pressure level in the entire venue was stable at 85-90dB, the human voice reproduction was high-fidelity, there was no noise or howling, and the media reporters could accurately record the speech content, and the participants could clearly hear every detail of the speech. The sound coverage uniformity reached 98%, which fully met the client’s requirements for sound clarity.
Second, the system operated stably without failure: During the 4-hour press conference (including rehearsal time), the audio system operated continuously at high power, with no equipment failures such as signal interruption, overheating, or sound distortion. The stable performance of the VRX932 and VRX918S equipment ensured the smooth progress of the press conference, avoiding any losses caused by audio problems.
